Curveball is a great Pong style game with the ability to make the ball curve by moving as you hit it.

I don't know if that's really physics-based. It's too constant to really be, if there were different types of paddles with different friction coefficients, which affected how the ball traveled, then it would be more physics-based, but this is easily achievable with a few smart lines of code..
But again, I'm not sure, it seems pretty fluid. |

you can curve shot the ball that's physics.

In a very basic form
too basic to be accepted by this community you could compare this game to a game such as pong and it wouldn't have much more physics than it... just a few if statements and you can have a ball bounce off walls depending on how fast or how "far" the ball is Last edited by samysam; 07-30-2010 at 07:22 PM.. |

I dunno. Yes, on the one hand, the game is simple, but if you apply spin to the ball by sliding the paddle in any direction when the ball makes contact, it causes the ball to curve and arc in different directions. So I wouldn't say it isn't physics based. If you took the physics out of the game, it would be very standard forward and back Pong. Therefor, it is a physics-based game, since the gameplay depends on the game physics to be unique from other games.

Well... We know this game simulates physics, which normally would make it count as a physics-based game, but Mario also simulates physics. We don't know, maybe forces were applied to the player to make him jump, but that could be replaced with more simple code. That would still be physics-based, though, since it simulates gravity. The game does depend on gravity. Why isn't it physics-based...? Because it doesn't have more elements of physics, I guess. That is similar with this game; there is only one element of physics, but is it an element of physics that makes the game physics-based? I don't know. I'd say yes, but then I'd also say no, because of the small amount of physics.

The game is not physic-based, it's not more physic based than a 2D pong game.

I played this five years ago. :P
I don't think this constitutes as physics-based, but I do appreciate your effort to find games. |
