http://www.octaveengine.com/casual/dltrial.html
Just found a link to this from the Bullet forum. The site is Japanese, but the application is in English. It's a nice fluids sandbox that reminds me somewhat of Falling Sand except with the sort of physics you'd get in kotsoft's stuff. Unfortunately I can't find any screenshots to link to here, but there's some small movies at this page. Download from the top link, view movies on this one. http://www.octaveengine.com/casual/trial.html Oh and despair not, Mac users. There's a mac version too ![]() |

Most Brilliant fluid sim I've ever used! And danahribo, I don't seem to have any issues with my CPU when playing it.

I'm watching the videos on the site.
We don't have alot of the things they do. Like, the Dragging ability. How do you put a picture in there, and apply physics to it? Kotsoft, if you aren't watching this thread, you should. They're simulating incompressable liquids, and it's running quickly too. |

It's kinda hard for him to see that without checking in this thread :P

It's not at the same scale as kotsoft's..
Plus when I try to make it work at that scale it slows down alot, so there's still a problem here.. |

Kotsofts is a whole lot less CPU demanding, which is really good. Although this is so much better looking, if Kot gets something like this for his final product ist going to be SLAUGHTER! (of all the other flud sims
) |

I love this thing, been playing for at least an hour now. So, anyone know about those features we don't get. The Wii button for example? How about... The physics, picture-thingies? |

well, my simulation produces beautiful looking bubbles.
i do actually have a surprise for everyone coming soon though... mysterious eh. Last edited by kotsoft; 04-03-2008 at 07:25 PM.. |

This is BETTER than the falling sand game.
I love this! |

Hey kot do you think you could make your stuff for mac some how? cause I really like OE-CAKE and I know I'd like your sandbox even more when it comes out.

I still prefer Kot's methods.
This IS alot slower. I'm sure that Kot's will end up better. I do like the water physics in this better though. I can't wait for your "surprise" Kot. can you tell us how soon that'll be. ( every fluid physics related topic on this forum is ending up on the topic of Kot xD ) |

kotsoft's certainly does seem faster. Oh, I just realised you can actually drag in images from folders on your PC or even your browser to make them appear as whatever material you are selected. There's something perversely awesome about setting it to "mochi" and dragging in photographs of people.

How do you put a picture in?

Just drag it from your desktop, or a folder into the OE-CAKE window where you want it to spawn.
It'll spawn as whatever material you have clicked. |

What graphics level do you need to be on and what format should the image be?

It works with Shader mode, or Blob with Textures. So far I have tried the supplied TIFF files (transparency works) JPG and GIF and all work so far. Obviously no animated gifs.
