Default WIP Game: Gymnast

I wanted to get some feedback on my latest project:

GYMNAST

Gymnast is a physics-based acrobatic game all about swinging on, and leaping between, bars! The controls are 100% analog, using the thumbsticks to control the upper and lower body joints on the gymnast, allowing for lots of variety in gameplay.

Features:
1. Circus Mode - jump from bar to bar, trying to reach the "goal" bar. Records are also kept for best time, highest score, and fewest releases, including Portal-style challenges for each of these records.

2. Gymnastics Mode - just you and 1 bar. Try to achieve a high score by linking release moves into combos. Your score only counts if you land safely on one of the blue mats.

3. Play as one of several different gymnasts

4. Save and watch replays from all game modes

5. Built-in level editor lets you create new levels and challenges (all levels in the game were made with this editor)

6. Tutorials to explain how to play.

anyway, thanks for your time!

The game should be done very soon, at which point I will release it for free on both PC [Windows] and Xbox 360.

The game requires an Xbox 360 controller to play. I may investigate supporting other controllers in the future, but the game requires 2 analog sticks to be played properly.

Ah, I better buy a stack of them then! It looks rather challenging so I can see a few controllers meeting an untimely demise lol!

Ah crap

In that case I'll need a "360-wireless-controller-to-usb-device" and that costs

Awww

I'm a gymnast in real life, so I was looking forward to this :/

Might end up working with my PS2 controller adapter, it seems to work with every other 360 controller game

EDIT:

Also, learn some form for your video

Bent knees = bad

Awesome. It looks very professional (as always) and I will love to see further development on this. Any expected release date? I always hated the release date of soon.

It's not difficult to get a 360 controller. Any of the wired ones will just work on PC (they're USB). It's $34 on Amazon. $17 for the wireless receiver.

So anyway, talk about the game and not about the controller requirements...

I'm a gymnast too (you might have guessed from this and my trampoline game... and yes bent knees = bad, but bent knees also = more momentum

about controllers

I will look into supporting other controllers on Windows, but the game REQUIRES 2 analog sticks to be played properly, so keyboard or mouse are out. Any "officially licensed" 360 pad will work, even the 3rd party ones.

Looks great! I'm actually kind of glad you are using analog, I always end up fumbling a bit when games that require timing are controlled by the mouse.

I look forward to a release! Soon!

That's actually pretty cool

How long have you been doing it?

I was actually impressed by the way you named every move correctly in the trampoline game. And may I add, that game kept me up into the wee hours of the night for quite a few weeks.

Excellent as always.
This almost reminds me of a flash game I saw here a while ago, called "The Flying Brothers" or something like that.

Looks great, I love how it resembles Ski Stunt and how fluid it looks.
Also, I don't mean to sound rude suggesting this, but how would using the numpad and mouse work? You get 8 ranges of movement from each (double if holding them together works) and the mouse has full control. Would that be a good workaround or not?
I should buy a wireless adapter anyway though : P
