![]() is a game animation engine created by NaturalMotion based on Dynamic Motion Synthesis, NaturalMotion's proprietary technology for animating 3D characters on-the-fly "based on a full simulation of the 3D character, including body, muscles and motor nervous system". Instead of using canned animations, the characters' actions and reactions are synthesized in real-time, and so are different every time even when replaying the same scene. Euphoria runs on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. http://www.naturalmotion.com/ Gta4 will use euphoria also new star wars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae3fg...eature=related ![]() Havok Physics, better known as simply Havok, is a middleware physics engine developed by Irish company Havok. It is designed for computer and video games by allowing interaction between objects or other characters in real-time. By using dynamical simulation, Havok allows for more lifelike worlds and animation, such as ragdoll physics. The company has also released a Havok Animation and Havok FX, which uses Shader Model 3.0 on consumer GPUs for effects physics such as smoke. http://www.havok.com/ Games with havok http://www.havok.com/content/blogcategory/29/73/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ0HN...eature=related ![]() Meqon is a real-time physics engine for computer entertainment software. Meqon was developed by Meqon Research, a Swedish company that was acquired by AGEIA on September 1, 2005. The engine is set to be used in Duke Nukem Forever and some other games. http://www.meqon.com/future/ ![]() AGEIA, founded in 2002, is a fabless semiconductor company. AGEIA invented PhysX - a Physics Processing Unit chip capable of performing physics calculations much faster than general purpose CPUs; they also license out the PhysX SDK (formerly NovodeX SDK), a large physics middleware library for game production. Ageia is noted as being the first company to develop hardware designed to offload calculation of video game physics from the CPU to a separate chip. Prior to this, solutions from ATI and NVIDIA had not been planned nor announced. Soon after the Ageia implementation of their PhysX processor, NVIDIA and ATI announced their own physics implementations. Ok, why do we need one huge thread for things we already have threads for?

If we don't have a topic like this we will always have to search through the forums to find one thing....I think this is a great Idea and if it grows enough(not talking about flames) it should be stickied.

Well, this is just like the list of "almost all games mentioned on fun-motion" except for engines i guess. Is that your point Mister.x?

Maybe this should be added here: http://www.fun-motion.com/forums/showthread.php?t=772
Or at least in the developer section. |

Sorry to point out the obvious butttt......Wouldn't all of these things go in the "All most everything posted on fun-motion" thread?

I like this. Keep updating it, and if you add embedded YouTube video's, along with colorful dividers and different fonts, plus some images, it may get stickied.

Just a little info. As far as I know, the only shipped game using Meqon was Shade: Wrath of Angels. Timesplitters was set to use it, and definitely did use it in the old PC demo before the game was overhauled. I'm not sure if Meqon was used in the shipped game. I'm also not sure if Duke Nukem Forever is still set to use Meqon or whether they've changed over to something else.
Did any of you guys download and save the Meqon Future videos? They were originally here http://www.meqon.com/future/ |

Source is NOT a physics engine. It has a heavily modified version of Havok integrated, but it's not a physics engine.

Half Life 2 does use Havok Physics though... It uses Havok Engine 3.0. I'm fairly certain 4 is the latest version out. It says so in the credits when HL2 first starts up.
