Have you guys come to a conclusion on whether or not to lock old threads made before the "declaration"?

Locking old threads would be a waste of time since discussion has ended long ago in them.

If necro'd, then we'd have a reason to lock them.

Well, The...Far Cry 2 thread, for example. It was made before the statement, and it lives on. Yet, it isn't physics BASED.

The same applies for threads that were made before the statement that are still active. We're not going to stop an active discussion that's many pages long. Unless of course it was made after the policy.
