The six character challenge

I wondered if anybody else was having difficulty searching because of not typing in the exact six characters in the little image.:( It's very effective at keeping the search rate down I imagine. My right guesses are correct about one out of three times.

Is my eyesight that bad, or is anybody else equally character recognition challenged ?

Are you talking about CAPTCHA? I don't see it anywhere on this site... before I was a moderator and as a new member as well..

Yes he's talking about captcha. I tumbled once across this one too and couldn't process my search as I coudn't type in the correct letters...
So no, kingofthespill, you're eyesight is not bad !
But now I can't find it anymore, so I guess it is random or maybe it only appears when you're not logged in...

If you are not logged in then there is a bot prevention type deal where you have to type out the 6 characters shown. Sometimes it isn't clear what is being shown and the easy way is instead of guessing refresh until you see one that is very clear.

If you are logged in and you still get this problem try messing around with your cookies settings.

Yes, I was on another computer, not logged in. I thought I saw it at my home computer when I created an account.
