Copy and paste from Nvidia:
NVIDIA APEX makes it easy for developers to add detailed physics effects to their games and helps them optimize the gaming experience across multiple platforms with a simple “author once” cross platform content creation feature. This enables APEX to not only help developers accelerate the time it takes to author new games, but will also help them reduce overall development costs in the process. The APEX toolset will be available free of charge for licensed NVIDIA PhysX developers and is already being integrated into some of the world’s most popular development libraries and game engines, including Emergent Game Technologies’ Gamebryo LightSpeed.
There are a bunch of videos on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=nvidiacuda&view=videos&query=apex)
I have only seen three videos but it looks very cool.

Those videos make me want to buy UT3 even more, but I wonder if they did that with a special plug-in just for them for the Unreal 3 SDK level thing.

Too bad nobody cba to write a nice physx plugin for Cinema4D - if an APEX plugin would come I'd prolly die from an heart attack :/

That destruction looks REALLY impressive! But They still have to do some more work on that tree destruction, it looks kinda lame at the moment.

I remember in a email I asked Nvidia if they could develop a Nvdia PhysX plugin for C4D. The way I interpreted it possible for anyone to create the plugin with the SDK. Alternatively we could find a bunch of people to request PhysX Integration for C4D. On Maxon.net there's a suggestion form.

AHHH, THE FUTURE!!! Man, I can't wait, until effects like that one are implemented into games! I think it should be avaible in about 20 years when I look at how fast the hardware improves.

Imagine shooting down a helicopter in GTA 7 and watching the smoke look something like that as it falls through the sky! And it explodes on the floor and everyone in a 100 metre radius stumbles and falls over in a Realistic Euphoria manner, it also knocks down the wall of a huge building! :P

Mmh, buildings made with DMM, people made out of tearable softbodies, fluid blood and euphoria, realistic realtime deformable cars, particle flames and particle water...
Wouldn't that be actually real life?? :O I mean, with that new grafics engine that serves photolike pictures....
I think, I'll freeze myself to play a game like that as soon as possible :D

I dunno why, but i think if they brought out GTA 7 and we had a choice to either play with graphics that look completely real, or graphics like Killzone 2 or FEAR 2... I would go with the latter...

When I first witnessed the vegetation module I thought to myself this is nothing interesting.
But there a new video (to me at least) that shows it off pretty well.

The break points on the tree seem a bit too Clean tbh, There should be at least some splintering with an impact like that, right?

There's an evaluation form here (http://www.speedtree.com/downloads/SpeedTree_Evaluation_Form.pdf), if anyone can mail, fax, scan it, etc.
BTW I started High-School today, so much better than Middle school! ;)

I don't think that Evaluation is the APEX side of things. It's just the tree generation.
Here is where you can ask to try out APEX, but they want professional game developers. http://developer.nvidia.com/object/apex.html
