Live for Speed is the best online racing (and drifting) simulator with nice car and tyres deformation physic.
You can discuss about LFS in this thread.

I've seen my friend play this a bit, and it seems very realistic, except from the part that you can still drive your totally destroyed car :P

Downloading the demo... I'll edit here my thoughts then :D
E:.. It wasn't good... Physics were good though, but the car deformation sucked

It's a very good game, despite not having much in the way of deformation physics or damage effects. Like the other poster said, you can slam your car against a wall at 200+mph and still drive away. XD
But that doesn't detract much from it being a classy simulator. I just wish my 5 year old computer would run it with more than 4 cars on the screen at once. :p

You can't. Unless you mean new liveries, then you could just extract the files to a folder which name I forgot. :p

I've liked this game for a while, now, but not nearly enough to buy it. Like others have said, it doesn't have realistic enough destruction (although very nice deformation). I also thought the sound was awful quality, but maybe that's just me. Overall, though, it's very fun, but I think it's just the demo for me.

A really great game (I've been playing it since it was itty bitty S1), but I do have to question the morality of charging for a game that's still in alpha stage. Of course, I suppose MMORPGs pretty much do that and more, so I'm not going to complain too much.
I can't wait to see what this game is like when it's "Finished." It's really great now!

You all should judge by the quality of the sim, not by whatever name they've chosen to use :) . Remember when google was "beta" and still kicked the ass of all other search engines? Same here.
The deformation physics are very good, although obviously limited to the cockpit bounding box. Regarding damage, did you know you can blow up a tire if you heat it up enough? Or that you can break the turbo if reving too high? Or the whole engine for that matter (speed up to 250kph, then shift to first gear :D ).
Regarding regular physics (racers don't usually slam their car frontally into the wall at 200kph, do they? ;) ), they're pretty good, IMO one of the best in tarmac physics. Notice how the tire actually bends when cornering? Try lowering tire pressure and stiffening suspension in order to see it easily...
Youtube for "slowmo lfs", or "slow motion lfs", there are some good vids out there showing off the physics.

This game has the best 3D car physics engine.
This is good aerodynamics demonstration http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ASdpOtFtfg also LFS has fully dynamic damage model and fully physics based tires (tires really deform in-game) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0ABK1g3mjg&NR=1
