well, I got this working with my G25, but how do I change vehicle? I was doing sandbox, but I could only drive the monster :(

Got it working, I can keep playing this game FOREVER :D

Just click on the 'change' to the right hand side of the vehicle on the 'TEAMS' menu ( the one where you select your control method ) to change your vehicle.

Oh and, my fps seems to jump to 53 sometimes, but it normal it sticks to 49-51fps

Hmm, I alt+tabbed and then all the vehicles we're white?

Not much I can do about the AltTab thing.

oh okay, but what I think is awesomest is that I got The G25 steerign wheel working for it :D And it works perfectly with throttle/brake control etc :o

Fantastic news - I was hoping that the control would work with every Analogue / Wheel. What is a G25 btw?

Uhm, would a 400$ wheel answer your question? :D

No, it's a steering wheel, pedals, and a gear stick and 16 bottuns. This would be it. (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/wheels/devices/131&cl=dk,da)

Would this work for a PS3 controller? And if not, what are the controls? (Ill map Keyboard and mouse functions to it)

Should work fine for just about any dual analogue controller. I use Ps1 and Ps2 dual sticks to play myself so ps3 should be ok. If it doesn't work just go into the CONTROL/KEYBOARD menu and hover over the actions to get the current key mappings. I haven't tested with an xbox360 pay so would be interested to know if that works. No mouse control I'm afraid.

I just tried the light mode, that's awesome, but I'll have to go to bed now D;

Yeah, but way too easy in single player. Or maybe I was just lucky, but it seemed that half the time the CPU cars just drove around randomly not trying to reach the light. Still, it was awesome. I'd be glad to pay 10-15$ for this when it comes out.

I was hoping for some enviroment physics :( Like those huge rocks in the 1st test level.. Would be great to push one of them down the hill crushing 3 cars :P

Can some one mirror it please.

I've used up my bandwidth - far too many people downloaded the demo in the first 4 hours.

[EDIT] New links above ..

There are smaller rocks which can be pushed about but not in this demo. You could push one of the tires over the edge and crush stuff but you'd need a tank.

Agreed. The AI is very much WIP as mentioned in the readme. They have no concept of their surroundings yet but it's not difficult to improve them - I really added basic FSM to ensure stuff drove about semi-convincingly for the demo.

[EDIT] @ Z3R052 - I'm downloading the demo @ 300kb/s so there's something wrong with your connection.

Here is a new build which should address ...

Widescreen issues : Menu's should now be fully visible and selectable.

Camera issues : The camera now follows less rigidly. Default camera is now medium view.

Helicopter control : Height is now controlled via the Analogues.

Again, I'd appreciate feedback good or bad but please bear in mind that this is an Alpha demo and by no means the finished article.

Cheers Stevie

A racing/driving/anything-involving-a-car game would be sweet with Neural Networks... Although, those are pretty hard to implement or even understand :P

I think fun AI, rather than unbeatable AI is better for this type of game. Using Neural Networks to train your AI's is overkill in this instance. A FSM is the route I'm taking here.

You're planning on putting in The Flying Spagghetti Monster eh? ADMIT IT! :D

Aye - it's a complex beast ;)

Each vehicle can be assigned it's own behaviour state. I have loads of behaviours working so far, each of which can have any number of the sub states :

;behaviours
Const AIB_PEDESTRIAN = 1
Const AIB_AGGRESSIVE = 2
Const AIB_RELENTLESS = 3
Const AIB_FRIGHTENED = 4
Const AIB_PICKUPandDROP = 5
Const AIB_COLLECT = 6
Const AIB_PROTECT = 7
Const AIB_UNPREDICTABLE = 8
Const AIB_SUICIDAL = 9

;states
Const AI_ROAM = 1
Const AI_CHASE = 2
Const AI_REVERSE = 3
Const AI_ATTACK = 4
Const AI_POWERUP = 5
Const AI_RACE = 6
Const AI_GO_TO_LIGHT = 7
Const AI_GET_WEAPON = 8
Const AI_FLEE = 9
Const AI_DROP_WEAPON = 10
Const AI_KAMAKAZI = 11

The lastest new Mini-game - "VANAKAZI" has all the players self destructing near vans to score points. Good fun to watch :)

That sounds awesome.

I've been expecting this to be released for a while, and now that is has, all I can say is amazing. :D Tank AI is so aggressive.

More vehicles would be nice, and also how about a game mode that involves driving down a really steep hill, about a mile in length, and dodging rocks and potholes ect. If you flip over damage is given for each second your upside down or flying through the air...
There are about 10 other cars bouncing down the hill with you lol. Also better suspension on cars, and a fucking map maker would be orgasms.

The screenies look brilliant; remind me a lot of Mario Kart 64. I shall give it a try now.
