There is this very cool In Game Rendered Movie. It goes for about 5 mins.
Page: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=30244 Only 177KB :)
When everything breaks up it looks extremely realistic. Remember watch it all, the start is a bit slow but when it is beyond half way that is when it starts up.

Wow I can't believe something that is only 177KB can lag my computer so bad! I set it to 320x240, no shadows, normal texture detail and it's still freezes up for like 30 seconds at a time. Too bad, I want to watch this movie.
Edit: Saw the Youtube video, great! Absolutely amazing for 177KB. I thought even one texture would take up more space than that!

When you load file, the bar is decompressing everything. The similiar strategy they used with Robo Blitz to fit in the XBLA 50MB Limit (the PC version is 150MB).

I've been interested on the stuff at pouet.net for quite some time though, but this! Amazing! Crashes every time I load it, even on low settings! Still, saw it on youtube... wondered if someone had slipped something into my drink. It's like some wierd dream.

Doesn't work for me either :(
I don't mean to be contrary for the sake of it, but it doesn't seem to me to be anything special.
Aside from the compression, but even that is getting to be standard.

The only good thing about this is that fact that it's so small.

Yeah with some ground deformations too. But they are scripted.

Movies never really impress me with their physics, because most of it can either be scripted or faked with animation. I dunno, I saw the YouTube video (worked on my computer, but it ran faster on YouTube), and I didn't think it was anything special, if a little boring at times.

It is boring. It's the fact that it's so damn small that gets everyone exited.

I think some of you just miss the point of a demo...

Not really worth bumping to tell us something everyone already thought.

What is it with all of these bumps?
Thanks for reminding me of this though.
It is truly amazing (:

Note: File size does not necessarily represent the actual size of the movie. If it's generated on the move, then a lot of space and cpu-work is probably needed to generate the movie.
I didn't think it was amazing but it's nice to watch, although I saw it around here some years ago.

It is amazing, your average picture has this filesize, the time that has gone into making this must have been very long.
Procudural generation is the future, and this is a fine example what can be achieved. (I remember the elite series had millions of procedural generated solar systems)

Please stop bumping this. It's REALLY old :D

and apart from that there's no physics at all, only a possible scripted "gravity-like" movement... as is apparent, every "physically seeming" object intersects with any other object in the scene, so no collision detection even
