For the uninitiated
Gmod is a mod for the Source Engine, now released for $9.99 on Steam.
Basically, it is a giant sandbox mode. You can build contraptions, kill people, make stuff to kill people, etc. There really is no good way to describe it, you have to play it. (And it's much more fun in online mode!)

Technically you can still get gmod9 for free, but the new one's way better, also Gmod9 stuff has been mostly eliminated from Facepunch.

It's fun just to watch people do stuff in it... Sometimes. When they're testing, there can be some hilarious results!

I would love to play G-Mod but I cannot buy games online. :eek:

Well hopfully when I am living on my own this G-Mod will be made with Half Life 3 and then I could buy it.

I've tried Garry's Mod, but the version that didn't cost any money. Rather funny actually, but I wasn't very good at it, so I mostly spawned lots of NPCs which I watched kill each other in large scale battles! (Mwahahaha)

I love garrysmod, I also bought it. And haveto say its worth it, one of the greatest mods out there for Hl2.

Garry's mod 10 RULES!!! It's fun to go to a server and minge around (sometimes :rolleyes:).
But when you get banned it's not so fun enymore.

I'm yet to spend money on version 10, but I definitely got a lot of fun out of it from it's conception through to version 9. I'll probably get the retail version eventually.

It's great to see a game encourage player creativity, ESPECIALLY when there's a good physics engine at the core of it.

I think you misunderstand the term at hand here.
P2P means Pay To Play. Meaning you, well, pay recurring charges to play. This is games like WoW and Auto Assault.

Gmod is only 9.99, a one time charge. Therefore NOT P2P.

I wish I had half-life 2 with garrys mod, but ehhh i can still find fun with just my computer.

It doesn't have to be Half-Life 2. It can be any standalone source engine game. (Half-Life 2, CSS, maybe HL2 Episode 1...)

Sadly even Garry said it will probaly NEVER go retail. Just pay the $10. 10 is realy worth it, a big jump from 9. (btw he's back from he's break if any of you check the web site, expect new gmod updates soon!):D

Yeah, I just meant the 'paid for' version, I suppose I did misuse the term 'retail'. :p I probably will spend the $10 eventually, when I have time to play it.

I have it it's fun... I wish I could play online though, the servers are very pinggy and they kick me out when I join... why me!? :( :( :(

this is the order of which you need

1) Far Cry v1.3 [74.1 MB]
2) Far Cry v1.31 [8.9 MB]
3) Far Cry v1.33 Patch [21.2 MB]
4) Far Cry v1.40 Cumulative Patch [180.6 MB]

also you need to be registered to ubi
