As described in my other post, I am looking for some people to help me with textures for my game, thenecronwolf .
Anyway, my idea is already in production in DarkBasic, but I feel that I might need to switch to that C+ thing or whatever:confused:
It would be a sort of ragdoll fighting game set in a fully destructible free-roaming enviorment. You could drag the ragdoll character of your choice to make a fully-moddible attack move, and then bind it to one of your keys. Plus it would use a physics engine similar to the one in the new Star Wars game.
Any help would be greatly appreciateable:p

Same engine as the new Star Wars? You mean Force Unleashed right? The one built under the Euphoria engine... You just got my attention! Good luck, dude ;)

No, he means the wood braking, metal bending and people trying to catch falls, no ACTUALLY the engine itself, just what it does :D
But yeah, good luck!

Good luck with [a] the game and [b] getting the Euphoria engine.

Lol, i wanted to say 'similar', not 'same' :o
Thx for pointing this out, Beakless ;)

My instinct is that you're probably biting off a bit more than you can chew, but good luck nonetheless! :)
What sort of programming projects have you worked on prior to now? Also, what progress have you made in DarkBasic?

I wouldn't worry too much about textures at this stage. Get the game mechanics working first - at least a proof of concept.
I doubt that the Eeuphoria Physics engine can be licenced without a significant outlay ( £1000's ) and even then it's doubtful that it's easily accessible or compatible with the horrific language which is Darkbasic.
Don't get me wrong I wish you good luck but it's a common trait for people to have game ideas which far exceed their capabilities.

Well, I've made just a few demos, but I think that I have the language down (rem create_23object what??? )
Anyway, for the next-gen consoles, I would try to use the help of Natural Motion, but the game is mostly based for pc.
By the way, is there a way I can take the models I've created and turn them into a (good) ragdoll?
Right now I'm focusing on making the water so it deforms yet has a shader imported to it. As soon as I get it good enough to go (pre-beta stage anyone?:D ) I'll upload it.
It would really be nice if I had someone with a good physics engine experience to teach me the steps.
I'm really determined to get this idea underway, so I don't really have to worry about that, what I do have to worry about is a lawsuit with WarHammer :D.

I've been thinking about this game for about two years now, so it's not some far-fetched idea;)
I'm trying to recruit some people into helping me, if it get good enough, hopefully Walaber can help me:p :p

Why would there be a lawsuit?
(sorry if this answer is obvious, I might just be tired)

The game would be based around the Necron army, I hope that they would pay me instead if it were to be a good game!

Cool! Any suspected release dates, demos, videos, etc?
EDIT: Also, is there a website or forum other than this one where we can monitor its progress?
Wow, I'm inquisitive today...

Well, it's not necessary to get a copyrighted idea... Make a game nice and fun as you want it to be, and the textures/names etc will be the last thing to add. I'm sure you can find another name for your army, like... Sumotorians or something else :D I saw many great projects cancelled by lawsuits (most of them have to do with MiddleEarth and StarWars universes) and it's just sad :(
