Great little game. I've imagined and longed for a game with such physical control over a character for ages. Hopefully this idea is eventually integrated into a larger scale of gameplay, with AI. Imagine a third person action game where you run around with fairly conventional controls, but at any time can freeze time and switch to controlling your character's movements in detail, to fight your opponents.

I got it from GG and e-mailed my key to Hampa and got a real one. And i TOTALLY love this game. It's a shame i don't know how to make heads nor use the head maker template...Any help???

if you email hampa your GG key he will give you a normal key

and to make a head simply draw it in your favorite picture editing program (any will work, even paint) it must be 128x128 pixles. go to this link and convert it to a TGA http://toribash.reversers.org/image2tga/.

Nice render. I believe you changed some of the settings, because those pov-ray renders aren't that green normally...?
But damn that rendering takes time. It's like... Few minutes by ONE picture. It must take days to render few minutes long fight :/
E: Is there or is there not any other way to render those? Any faster programs?

yes i did edit some settings, i make my own INC files. and also it only takes about a good 6 min to render about 100 frames for me so i dont know what your talking about "slow" :D . as for another program unfortunatly i dont know of any.

no mines just good where it takes somebody 20 minutes to render a terragen scene usally takes me 5 :D . anyway i could render a scene for you if u wanted, i got a few more custom .inc files.

It's just that I haven't saved any replays in .pov format. Maybe I will when I finally bash a good fight. My "bashing" is more like jumping and stuff :S
Can you send those .inc files? I've got new faster graphics card, and I'll try rendering some scenes again, if it would be faster this time...
BTW, renderin with that "milk.inc" file is SLOW. I've been renderin scene (800x640 AA 0,3)for about 2 minutes now.

It's only $20 or a tenner if you're english like me.
If you're in Australia, it's (probably) about $30. And frankly, I wouldn't pay that for Toribash. It's nifty, but there's simply not enough to make it worth the money (especially if you're poor like me). I wouldn't seriously hold it against anyone who pirated the game (not that I endorse pirating games). You can get older xbox games for about $40 in Australia.

As soon as they make a game that's worth my money, I'll buy it. I still have enough fun with the demo, anyway.

i am disappointed.
in multiplayer there are almost always no-one in the member servers!
but what was pretty funny is go to options set dismember thingy to 1,
go to practice, move you character a little bit and he explode in thousand pieces.
other then the new options there is nothing new!

First off the physics are completely different and it would take AGES to get it working the same.

And even if you do that, there's the small bit of CONSTRAINTS. From what I understood from people who have the 3.0 beta, you can't make constraints among objects yet.

Ya, it takes awhile to get the hang of dismemberment! Remember, you want to try to place all your force exactly in the middle of the opponents join you're aiming at!:)

Work on leaping up and bringing your arms straight down on to your opponent's shoulders. 9 times out of 10, you'll end up breaking one or both of his arms off. Once you've found the sweet spot on those two joints, it'll be easier to find it on all of his joints.

And I also have one another problem too. When I start an "environment mod" (there are stairs or something), toris won't spawn on the blocks or stuff, they will spawn to their original starting places.

Me too I was hoping it would look like the videos but sadly it doesn't.

Also, there is a thread on the toribash forums about the shader problem it seems it's happening to a lot of people. (Sry I can't provide a link, I can't get to their website)

I got it the day it was released, and i LOVE it! The enviroment modding is just so
sweet... Want a table with lots of small throwable cubes on? You just make it ^_^

And, a shorter, easier way to fix shaders:

1. Go to your desktop shortcut, right click, and Properties. If you dont have an icon, make one.

2. Add -shaders 1 to the very end of the Target, so it looks like this: (Sorta)
"C:\Program Files\Toribash-3.0\toribash.exe" -shaders 1

3. Open Toribash via the shortcut, and enable shaders in Setup ingame.

4. Voila!

Note, this might not work for everyone, but it did work for me...

And Muntu, here's a gif, showing both shaders, shader background and a wall...

To switch background shaders, press T and type "/lws <shadername>.inc", where

Hehe... Until you get that fixed, here's a small explanation of the things found in enviroment modding...

env_obj 1-11: Defines the object and the objects number... Remember to give
each object a different number, and don't make more than 11!

shape sphere/square/cylinder: Defines the objects shape.

pos <x pos> <y pos> <z pos>: Defines where the object is. X is the way
your arms point, y is the same axis as engage distance, and z is the vertical axis.

color 0-1 0-1 0-1: Defines the objects color, using the RGB system.
you can use all values between 0 and 1.

rot <x rot> <y rot> <z rot>: Defines how much the objects position is
rotated in degrees. X rot turns it around the x axis and so on...

sides <x size> <y size> <z size>: Defines the objects size. It's obvious
for squares, but it's another matter with spheres and cylinders.
X defines a spheres radius, and a cylinders width. Y defines a cylinders length.
Y and Z does not affect spheres, and Z doesn't affect cylinders.

material steel/flesh: Defines the objects material.

mass <mass in i-dunno-which-units>: Defines the objects mass. I'm sort
of inclined to believe that the units are tons, since 1 mass is pretty darned heavy.

flag <number>: Defines properties of the object. Flag 0 is default, which
means movable and damaging. Flag 8 means static and non-damaging.
Flag 6 means instagib, which means that the object breaks any joints it touches.

Edit: Here's an example:
