Wild Metal Country is a vehicular combat game in which physics plays a major role. You drive a small tank around vast landscapes, searching for items and defending yourself from enemies. You have direct control over the movement of your tank's tracks, making driving around more interesting, and you also directly control and orient your turret. You can shoot various projectiles which are affected by gravity, so destroying your enemies requires consideration of angles and distances rather than simply pointing and shooting. There's a lot of bouncing around, and every explosion pushes nearby objects around (including you) satisfyingly. It's a fairly simple game, but effectively designed and fun to play. It has quite a distinctive feel to it.

The game was developed by DMA\Rockstar, of Grand Theft Auto fame, and they have recently released it for free on their website as a part of the "Rockstar Classics" series.
