Hi. in your FAQ it says that you're updating the site 3 times a week. or atleast trying. i don't think that's the situation at the moment. could you,

Fix that part of the FAQ or modify it atleast?. even better,

Could you update the site 3 times a week?? that would be awesome. it shouldn't take so long when you already have the interviews ready?

thanks.

I would like to ask why it takes such a long time updating the site. I only bring this up because the sites headline is still the dam Gymnest vid.

I only ask to update the site at least once so I dont have to see that video again.;)

Didn't Matt say that he had gotten some "helpers" in reviewing and discovering physicsgames?

Matt's been unicycling through Vietnam for the past month or so, there are some reviews queued up that he said he's gonna put up now that things are settling down for him.

The site was launched on 3 reviews a week (a pace I kept up for a few solid months). I realize reviews have been very sparse lately. Sit tight, though, more reviews are coming...

hehe. im sorry for smashing truth @ ur face..

FM provided Matt a step into Casual Games developers world. FM got him somewhere, updates on the front page have lately been of personal interest (raptor safari, walaber, etc..)

All that is FM to us, is now right here on the forum. Since we are clearly the providers on FM life, we shud concider taking the forums to the next level ourselfs. Matt clearly isn't putting a lot of time in FM (the web 2.0 idea) so let's strive to make this platform truly WEB 2.0. No bypassing Matt ofcourse!

Whattadasay?

I did unicycle 300 miles across Vietnam in March (Flickr photos here (http://flickr.com/photos/matthewwegner/sets/72157604060630923/)). That and the GDC were the two big reasons the site has been dead again for the last few months.

There is some truth to this, in that Fun-Motion eventually opened some doors for speaking engagements. But Flashbang predates Fun-Motion by a few years (we just turned five years old a few weeks ago).

The larger truth is that I started Fun-Motion to spread the word on the obscure physics games I was playing. My motivation was to educate the average gamer on a whole genre that I loved, but didn't have much attention. After I covered all of my favorite games it became more effort to find new content and force myself to do more reviews. Plus, things with work were getting busier...

There are plenty of new physics games to cover, and there are a still a bunch of old gems that most people are unaware of. The site will eventually get to 100 reviews, maybe even in 2008.

F-M has always ranked #1 on Google for "physics games". In the early days, it was worth a dozen visitors a day. Today it's hundreds of visitors, so the audience is definitely more aware of the genre. In that way I consider the site a huge success, even if current updates are slow.

The newest games are always discussed in the forums here, so I don't feel too bad. It's not like a reviewer's video and handful of paragraphs are required before you guys can enjoy the games.

Matt,

Don't get me wrong, web 2.0 is about content created by and for a comunity.
FM (you) provide us a platform of special interest. I recall being very happy when I 1st bumped on Fun-Motion a 'long' time ago. Saved me a lot of effort on finding physics fun on the net. The forum has been a great addition to the site.

I'm very happy to see FM opened doors for you. Your reviews have always been top notch, even those written when FM was still 'undiscovered' by the majority.

The casual games industry is growing, fast! This year I attended Casual Connect in Amsterdam, I was head PR for the conference. If you haven't checked already, U might want to do so http://www.casualconnect.org/. It's an anual gathering of most of the 'big players' in Casual Games world, ie. Real, big fish, tangent, microsoft, popcap... and the list goes on.

I have many contacts in the industry of wich some might be of interest to you. If you wish to exchange info, let me know: delite@live.nl *msn*

ps. said it b4, but thx for FM and all you have done to get physics/casual games on the chart. Keep up the great work. Please think with us on where you wish to see FM going in the future.

We actually left the causal market as a developer awhile ago. I still follow it--been to Amsterdam last two years, and I spoke in Seattle the last two conferences--but it's not really of interest to Flashbang anymore. We'll be doing more games along the lines of Raptor Safari in the future...

Yeah, apologies for that. There are actually some reviews on the edge--both my own and contributors'--but I've been a little busy lately, whoops.

This is the big push, if anyone's curious what I'm up to: http://blurst.com.
