Trackmania Nations Forever (FREE ON STEAM)

Yep, it's free on steam now, it comes with multiplayer and solo options to your use. I realize this is only for physics games, and yes, it has car physics, gravity friction etc. etc., so don't flame me please. You must have a Steam account and the application to download it, if you get the Steam news pages then you already know about it. Have fun.

E: I had a....bad first experience, I cranked all my settings up to max; knowing my overclocked 8800 GT could easily handle it right? Well, it lags like crazy most the time, I'm not sure if it was that I had 50 other online cars around me or I think something is wrong, because then...EXTREMELY ANNOYING...it sets my resolution down to the lowest possible....makes it look hitious, and I just say "F*** it". I'll work on fixing it later.

Haha easy game to beat. Especially coming from someone who is a diehard fan of vehicle racing. I am currently ranked 1st in my State, 23rd in the US, and like 70th in the world. But that was an hour ago, probably gone by now.

Was that online, or not? Because I'm going to guess you didn't rank that high online. There are only about 1,200 people on single mode and about 300,000+ on net mode. It's pretty easy to beat on single, most definitly not in multi.

Why? It actually seems like a great value. It has 7 environments, tons more singleplayer stuff, and more online things. I'm thinking about getting it. They can't release every game for free. There being generous for releasing part of the game for free, stop complaining.

SAME. PROBLEM. If you PM me your email address I can forward the email report I got from steam giving me the problem and how to fix it.

Solo is where teh skill is at. I even got a few Author's Medals, which apparently means you did faster than the guy who made the level. <_<

Plus online is a lagfest for me.

Is it not working for anyone else? I downloaded and installed it, then when I tried to launch it, the launch window came up, then once I clicked play, a window came up with TM Forever in the title thing, but the actual window is just black.

Yeah I go online, but those aren't my online ranks. Well I lied, I haven't had the time to go online with TMNF, but I used to go online with TMN. I was moderatly good. I mostly played on the French servers and always finished in 10th out of 30 something people.

@ ed Yea, I play on the french servers nadeo set up. There's usually around 200 people in them. I almost always finish somewhere from 15-55 place. xD Upper fourth is good in my book. :P

I just found this place (http://trackmania-carpark.com/index.php) where you can download awesome skins and models for TMNF.

Once you download the ZIP file, DON'T UNZIP IT! Instead place the ZIP file in the following directory:

My documents\TrackMania\Skins\Vehicles\Carcommon (if the folder doesn't exist, create it)

Then go into your profile ingame, go to vehicles, and select the car. Then go back an race with it.

Voila. New cars for everyone.
