Earlier this year, our most observant scientists noticed a star cluster careening toward our humble planet (i.e. Earth). Today, a top-secret project to convert Neptune into a pilotable interstellar cleanup vessel has finally come to fruition, and just in time; those stars are closer than ever.

You see, we're going to pit these two problems against each other by using our own planet's mass, combined with the shape of the unique and ergonomic cleanup vessel, to push the stars right into the nearest black hole (which, scientists estimate, poses no short-term threat).

Only one problem: we need a damn good pilot who won't screw up and catch our whole planet on fire. And we need him or her right now -- experts say that that biggest star is going to start flinging flaming flecks at us any moment now.

So, are you up to the task? Sign up for the mission here (http://adb.thefortytwo.net/misc/oec/space_cleanup.oec). Use the arrow keys to guide Earth into the cleanup vessel, then shove those hell-spawned spheres into the shrieking abyss. Just ... be careful about it, would you?

When I opened the OE-Cake website this came up: http://adb.thefortytwo.net/misc/oec/space_cleanup.oec but then after I loaded it again it went back to normal. Does anyone know what it is?

It's information for an OEC file. Just type "Space_cleanup.oec" for a new file in your OE-Cake folder, then open it with Wordpad, and copy/paste the code from the website into it, then save, start OE-Cake, and drag the "Space_cleanup.oec" into the window.

That's FPS, students. Ping is simply how much time it takes for data to go across the internet from your computer to a predetermined location and back again. Lag is a high amount of ping or a really, really low level of FPS.

I found out something kind of fun to do. Make a box or circle with an opening on the bottom. Replace some of the top with user and string. Mix Mochi with inflow and put a lot in so it fills the circle or box. Make a cup under the box or circle. Push on the up arrow key and let go (Repeat multiple times) and you got your self an ice cream machine! :D

Actually i think they're the same, that is the number of iterations performed for a specific task, also the 'scale' is the same...

If oe-cake is faster it's probably because some setting or hardware. I reckon they would've optimised physicafe a bit...

More likely, the scale constant. Just open your .oec in notepad and you'll see a "@ scale 8", change the 8 to something like 3 or 2.5. When you run it you'll probably want to be in Crosses mode.

It took so much time becouse I was using scale 1, with timeStepsPerFrame 1, and with cross rendering mode :P
AND WITH THE WINDOW MAXIMIZED xP
AND the final video has 100 FPS, becouse with timeStepsPerFrame being 1, the simulation was 8 times slower :P

earlofnim, you can make new elements by pressing ESC and then typing in letters of the elements, then pressing ESC again. (note: not all elements are assigned to the letter they start with, such as fire, fire is shift+2)

Yeah the jap one is still better. I've confirmed that english is indeed 1.0.1b and jap is 1.1.1b, it's no spelling mistake. Will update later with more info...




UPDATE:

The only difference seems to be a "September 5 expiry date".

Both versions appear to work without installing the east asian language pack. So those who couldn't install it run it before, should try now.

The save format appears to be the same and still displays "version 2" thus i believe there are no changes to the actual engine.

That'll be my nuke. I made oe-cake more detailed, then i used custom elements and a custom recording method and it worked real nice.

You can make one yourself, if you use the material codes listed in the video info...

I tried keeping it basic/boring in the early lessons... so it should (hopefully) get more interesting from here on in.

I forgot to mention - because theres so many possibilities - with the density set to lower than your material, it can be used to draw a gun barrel for example, which will contain massive pressures...
