Hello, I made this thread for a list of free Shooting games, Action games, and RPGs with physics. I`m also taking suggestions. So...here is the list (So far):

(PC) America`s Army--Multiplayer online FPS with ragdolls and grenade physics. It`s also free! Apart from the U.S. tax dollars... (I don`t think their is single player however...) Link: http://www.americasarmy.com/ (Note: Very American but has ALOT of foreign players, like Germans, French, and even Canadians like me!)

(PC) Cortex Command-- Action/Strategy game with nice particle physics and an active modding community. 1-4 players, co-op and versus. Includes AI and a singleplayer game. Is mentioned in this website. link: http://www.datarealms.com/

And here is a list of retail Shooting games, Action games, and RPGs with physics:

(PC) Dark Messiah of Might and Magic-- Has great use of physics and some of the GREATEST combat (that revolves around physics) I have ever seen in a game of this genre. Throw crates at people! Knock them down stairs! Set them on fire with a fireball! Kick them off cliffs! Beat them down with a staff!

(PC, 360, PS3) Oblivion-- Physical 12km squared world! A classic RPG with ragolls and physics on any object that can be picked up (Such as pots, swords, potions, watermelons, and more!) Also great for classical and new RPG players alike. It can probably excite some of the Action crowd aswell...

(360) Gears of War-- Ragdolls and grenade physics mixed with beautiful next gen graphics in a doomed world overrun by aliens. Also playable over Xbox live (but about 20 million people playing it know that)

Cortex Command is a fun-motion favourite, it's had a couple of site articles, and a fair bit of forum discussion. A great little game indeed :)

I'm not sure if AA would really qualify as a 'physics game' any more than, say, UT2003\4 would.. I haven't played it though so I can't really judge that. It uses unreal technology, right? If so, the physics will be karma\mathengine based. I'm thinking it's likely more client side physics than server side though, for visual things that don't influence gameplay\players, such as ragdolls.. it didn't seem like the sort of game to have a great deal of environmental interaction.

... should we list all games with ragdoll physics here? It's not that cool with ragdolls, in fact, I don't like them at all. Looks too unrealistic.

And I'm from Sweden and I play AA. ;)

True but the grenades have physics, aswell as weapon trajectories are required with the rocket launchers. It somewhat fit aswell as making it into the "free" category so I put it down.

Okay, if were posting games that only contain physics, not evolves around it then i got a good addition.
Its an RPG, one of the best ive ever played, its called Gothic 3.
It got awesome soft-body ragdolls powered by ageia physX (no physX card needed :D ) also, items that lay around seem to be static since you cant push it around by walking on it, but later in the game you get a telekinesis spell... ;)

Oblivion and Dark Messiah has some good ragdolls. IMO Dark Messiah has the best amount of physics indegration.

UT2004 has some good ragdolls and vehicle physics. UT3 will feature use of the PhysX Ageia Card.

Gears of War has very realistic ragdolls. You can use you legs to move around the enemy carcass. You can pull out a shotgun and turn the enemy carcass into many bits and pieces. The shame is that GoW has ragdoll but it uses animations then blends into ragdoll.

Dark messiah is great with Ragdolls, For example.

Kick someone down the stairs and they ragdoll, A small amount of time later the become a solid animation again and stand back up...

This is a good thing, as enemies dont just violently collapse when you kill them. First you see them go into a death pose, such as gripping their wound, or goint into a fetal position, and then when they're completely dead they go into ragdoll mode.
This is realistic as if I were to shoot you, you wouldn't immediately completely relax, you're more likely to grip your wound first, and then die and completely relax.

I didn't like the ragdolls in oblivion, but then someone fixed them with a mod which made them very nice.

I personally Didn't really see the point of oblivion using the Havok engine because the game wasn't very Physics-y in the first place, don't get me wrong the ragdolls and stuff are a nice feature, but the company didn't really use the engine to do much....... And that Lincence is F**king expensive!

More requests please! I also made a retail column for retail games. If anyone has a free RPG with physics, please tell me! (Its probably VERY rare but oh well. Dont spend time searching for it unless you want to, its open just if you come across it!)

Canadians of the world UNITE! *Clicks power ring together* *FWOOSH* Form of... MUFFINZ!

Sorry. Anyway, good game list. I played them all, and they are all good. I will probably start playing Americas Army again too... I had a good character on it. Almost a Special Ops or something.

Who hasn't heard of most of these games? I mean, the only game on there that I hadn't heard of was Dark Messiah. And although CC is a physics game, These other games incorparate physics rather than using them as a basic gameplay mechanic.

So nice list... but to non-physicy for me. Also, i'm a wii only soldier. ^_^ (I got LOZ twilight princess on wednesday and i've already racked up over 21 hours of play time)

Well, Oblivion has neat thing you can do with the physics, like barracades and stuff, and also moving stuff out the way but I agree, it is not required. Gears of war is probably the least physics-ish aswell as Americas Army but they deserve some mention. But Dark Messiah's combat does revolve quite abit around physics, if you play for a bit.
I have a wii (well, my sister does, but oh well), but only wii sports and warioware. I want Elebits!
P.S. Wasn't the wii originally called the Nintendo Revolution? just a small tidbit there...

Welcome! And I forgot about it because I have only played it on the Xbox and it felt too rough to me. I want to try Garry's Mod though : ). Also, if someone can make up a small review, I'll put it up there!

Far Cry has some of the coolest ragdolls i've ever seen! Too bad you can't move them around after you've killed them.

Ryu Hinote

Farcry has cool ragdoll, but the limited use of these ragdolls after their death ruins it.
Also, as a side note, i'm accepting peoples reviews to games because most people are mentioning games that I dont have!
