How about 2 different sub forums, not off - topic but.

Non-Physics Games

And

Games/Tech Help.

So wont be spam but it'll stop the physics game forum from being spammed with "PLEASE HELPSH MEASH STUCKS!" Just an idea, feedback please :D

Might a Non-Physics Games forum conflict with the ENTIRE idea of the ENTIRE website....

I think there are perfectly good forums for regular games and Tech help already, no reason to come here instead of going to them.

I think a sub-form for sorta off-topic stuff would reduce spam on the main forum. :)

1. You made a thread, I responded along with others. Is that not the normal progression of things on this forum?

2. Thank you for that.

3. Many things could stop spam, for example I could kill everyone who spams and make it look like several unexpected accidents. But really we don't have to debase the forum with extra sections just to stop spam, there are easier ways.

4. Since when does stating your opinion make you a "whiney bugger"?

If Matthew didn't want an off-topic section why would he want a Non-Physics Games forum? He made the site so it could be dedicated to Physics games, that was his goal.

Its not worth me arguing this because your always just gonna come back with invalid points with a cute little number next to them, it was an idea and you guys just shot it down without even considering it. Yes its a physics game forum but alot of people have asked for an Off - Topic forum i came in from a different approach of it still having games involved but it wont have the usual "OMG ONLY RAGDOLLS? SUXX GTFO" etc..... but you know, you can only try.

1. Yes, I am.

2. No I considered it. It is a worse idea then an Off-Topic section. An Off-topic section would encompass all and more of what your subtopics would without completely contradicting the whole basis of the forum. Seeing an Off-Topic section in a forum about physics games wouldn't seem as out of place as seeing a section about games without physics in a Physics Games forum.

3. You didn't try, you posted an idea and then completely refused to back it up against any points that anyone has made.

I don't care whether we get an off-topic section and I'm not going to fight against getting one but, to me, your suggestion is absurd.

P.S. You don't have to reply if you don't want to, you already stated that you wouldn't argue with me and I understand that. I only responded because after you stated that you didn't want to argue you continued to attack one of my posting formats and started complaining that no one considered your idea. (Which I did.)

Crincles, how would this be worse than an off - topic forum an off topic forum could end up full of "Free females get laid tonight" etc as well as non - physics related games is better than them being in the Physics games, because people continue to post them admittedly i posted a kinda non - physics game but i tried to stray away from the ragdolls only situation, with a non - physics game sub - forum people could post all the "Ragdolls Only" games there and people would stop all the "OMG RAGDOLLS IS DAT IT????!" maybe not a non - physics game sub forum but maybe a "Games with Physics" Sub Forum. I came up with this "Idea" because i was sick of all the "Ragdolls is not physics based get out now you phail" posts.

I must be missing something. Won't there be rules in an Off-Topic section too? Or will it just be a free for all like everyone keeps saying. I doubt there will be any "Free females get laid tonight" threads if there is going to be some moderation.

"Games with Physics"<- That is better. I can agree with that. If this is what you meant in the first place why didn't you just say it? I actually think that is a good idea it would allow some organization and might fix the "Ragdolls is not physics based get out now you phail" posts like you said.

Well I don't think the "Game/Tech Help" section is needed but a "Games with Physics" section is definitely a good idea. Better then an Off-Topic section in my opinion.

You might want to consider PMing the Mods or something and see what they say because it is definitely a good idea.

This forum was made for one reason, and only one reason. To post games that have physics that immediately affect the way you play the game. That's it. If you want to talk about other games, go to GameFAQs and talk on the respective boards. This forum is for talk about physics-centered games. Not how you got laid last night, not how you beat the shit out of a kid at school, not about SSBB, not about the latest episode of American Idol. It's where you post physics-centered games and discuss them. Games like the falling sand games, crayon physics, Gish, Armadillo Run, and HammerFall. Not Halo, SSBB, CoD4, MGS4, or any other game like those.

If I wanted to talk about the games that are being posted here, I'll go to GameFAQs. I came here to find games like Gish, not games I can find in Game Informer.

@Sokuto

Creating a "Games With Physics" section is a valid idea. People aren't going to magically stop posting highly commercialized games. There is really only two ways to fix this problem. One is to make it completely against the rules to post well known games with small amounts of physics and have the Mods lock every thread about them, almost like what they are doing with reposts. Or two, create a section in the forum that allows popular games with "Only Ragdolls" to be posted. Personally I would choose the second option, not only does it save work for the mods it also allows the commercial games to be completely seperated from the true physics based games. (Everybody is happy) If we go with option one, half the forum will be in an uproar about not being able to post popular games that have physics in them.

Unless you can think of another option pick one of mine.

Something HAS to be done because I'm tired of the arguing. (I'm sure others are too)
