but its not gameplay of B23, its just a more updated version, you can tell the AI is a lot smarter, and there are some other campaign things like the pointing arrows.

One could just set them to Team 2 (Player 1 and 2 are 0 and 1, respectively), really. That would work, but it would render the health invisible.

The only thing I dont like about this game is that you can't edit you base after you hit start. Maybe there should be another game mode called "Wave Mode" and you could build on your base after each wave.

Everything is there, which is awesome. Just messed around with a bit of recursive gibbing in the gib editor thing, making an AAL pilot gib into 3 more AAL pilots on top of each other.

The "free" IGF version is now an unregistered copy, but it is still the newER build 22.5 version of the game with the enhanced AI and objective arrows or whatever. Oh, and you can register with your own key just like any other build.

I'm only about half-way done with it, maybe less. It's only a superficial change though, it's going to remain as tough code-wise as it is right now. Thicker body and limbs does mean that bullets have a harder time blasting all the way through, though. It's also going to be a bit taller than the average soldier, as you can see.

Yes, it's getting fixed because there are curently some changes between MAC/PC builds, but you can still do some little changes to make PC mods work on a MAC.
Builds 23 will come when it's done.

In the Cortex Command folder, go into Base.rte, open up settings.ini, and then you can change a whole bunch of settings which you can't change in-game, and you can see your last used key.

Hmm...I haven't really tried to use it much, but if you look on the DR forums, you can find a bunch of lua stuff in the lua thread! Just go into Mod Making>Lua Scripting, and look around...

The ideas are decent, but the coding's a hell of a mess. You didn't even remove the unneeded content from the folder, resulting in duplicates of normal content. Also, you only made very few sprites yourself, and frankly, the ones you did are almost atrocious. You should spend more than 20 seconds on a sprite. Also, you don't need a gagillion 9's to make a particle deadly. I'm surprised that CC hasn't spazzed on you for putting so many 9's. >.>
Other flaws include:
- Some of the particles have a ridiculously long lifetime. (Especially the map wipe grenade)
- Some grenades are INCREDIBLY laggy.
- Greek "fire" looks like blood, is seriously laggy and has an all-too-high lifetime, AKA the above points. It also leaves behind red residue, which fire really doesn't do.
- Ray grenades leave green sludge behind, and the "rays" are affected by gravity. Gamma radiation, my good sir, is highly energetic, ultra-short wavelength electromagnetic radiation. Also, "Newly discovered super-heavy radiation" isn't an excuse for this. The heaviest radiation is Alpha radiation (Helium nucleus), but you're saying that it's Gamma based, and Gamma radiation is, as mentioned before, photons. Photons are massless, and thus must super-heavy photons be massless too.

BUT, before you call me Mr. NegativeRager, i'll have to say that the ordered radiation storm is actually pretty cool, looking away form the above point with radiation, and that it was fairly entertaining to watch the expanding ring of the instagib grenade eat everything. The map wipe was also fairly fun, though i think you should make it more "WAVE OF DEATH LOL" than "HIGHLY DANGEROUS SPLASH OF TAR". In other words, increase the minimum velocity. Also, reduce the lifetime, we don't need it lingering in the level for half a minute.
Anyhoo, whether you should post it or not is up to yourself, but you should remember that people will most likely bash you for submitting your first mod, along with most of the stuff i've already said.

There are some things in the windows version that aren't on the mac CC, like some line of coding or something along those lines (I think). But it should be fixed in B23, well at least that what people have been saying.

Shook, you should add sekret tings to the mod by commenting them out in the .ini file. E.g Lightning M.A.R.S. gun (Saw that suggested on DRL)

Well, it'd be a stationary field, and obstructing it with terrain would make it act like a rabid worm/jumping bean crossover. :P
I wish i could make it disappear on impact with terrain, but due to the function of it, it's impossible. When the emitting emitter is destroyed, it has already emitted a new particle, making it unstoppable. In other words, it will never disappear unless you restart the game, or the whole thing goes off bounds and ceases to exist.

Nope, you have to get software that takes all the images and compiles them into gif format. I think Virtual Dub will work, that's completely free.

On mac there's a terminal command for it, and it's really efficient at keeping the quality intact.
You use VirtualDub to make the array of images into a .gif, silly.

Nope. Print Screen doesn't work like that.
What Print Screen does is it takes the current screen, and puts a bitmap of it in the clipboard. It's available for pasting in Paint.
However, if you hold Print Screen, nothing special happens. Only one image is taken. And if you take another, it's going to wipe the first one unless you saved it by pasting it in Paint.

You obviously don't know what the heck you're talking about. It does exactly that in Cortex Command; takes a bitmap of the current screen and immediately saves it in the folder. Holding down the printscreen button makes it take an image of every frame while you hold it down, though it does slow down your framerate significantly. Go on, try it. I've done it since B18, or possibly earlier, i know it works.

Sadly, Cortex Command isn't popular enough (yet ;)) to have mods for it on other sites, usually whatever is on another site is on Data Realms. The only mod I've seen not on DR is a flamethrower mod from B14 on ModDB, which was a really good one for its time.

an MOpixel is a partical like a bullet, or a lazer beam, its used for most guns.
an AEmitter is a type of spawining object (emmetter)
an MOSrotating is what you want to make a gib

the assult drone is a delivry drone with a digger atached,
it can attack enemy units, but cargo dosent work too well (=

Basically, it's a GIANORMOUS cannon sticking down from above, almost literally raining hell on the ground below, before ending in a final blast of apocalyptic proportions.
But before that blast, there's going to be numerous phases of increasing lethality. Some of them i've planned are:
- A rain of fire, starting light and ending heavy. Complete with an initial wave of fire.
- A hailstorm of bullets/lasers.
- A hailstorm of explosive shells.
- Dozens of explosive fireballs.
- Several HUGE bombs/shells, all capable of wiping half the level.
- A "Sun gun", basically a massive, glowing sphere of energy that will hang around and kill stuff, before ending in a massive supernova.
- The final phase, which is a huge beam of energy that stops on a certain spot in the air. This spot is continually charged by large pulses of energy, and once critical mass is achieved, a blinding glow/explosion will blind the user, while the entire map is wiped clean of everything. When the glow subsides, there will be nothing but glowing residue hanging in the air left. And if your brain wasn't hidden above the level, you're dead.

if you want too de_lag it without losing any of the epicness,
heres a trick that i learned;
slow down the projectiles so that they dont carve the terrain as quick,
allowing more particles,less lag,
and equil destruction

The thing is that the fireballs don't even scratch the terrain. It's due to the sheer number of particles that it lags.
I have made it less laggy, but it's still a notable slowdown. Not as bad as one might expect, though.
Right now i'm working on making the sun go boom, which has taken a good while by now. >.>

If it's in a range where the glow doesn't show, it runs smoothly.

Wow Shook, that was amazing. When the first stage was going on for like...30 seconds I was wondering if that was it, but then it started changing and I was very entertained, wiped out all of the AAL guys who were trying to get to my brain. I didn't really see anything wrong with it, but (if you aren't going to do this already) you should make the cannon nuclearly (if that's a word) explode and cause shrapnel to fly everywhere! That would be a true apocalyptic ending ;)

there was a very (very) small amount of lag during the sun for me, but not enough to to slow it down signefigently
i have a few sugustions:
make the each of the first 4 stages buyable sepratly for a slightly lower cost:
and make a bazzoka that fires those rockets!
oh, and did i say that it was epic!
