I have some plans on making a physics based game out of some of the stuff I have worked on through last year to present. I have posted some of my work a couple of times some of my maps but nobody really was told what the hell it was. The title of the game will not be Epic Marbler, because it sounds unoriginal.

Basically C4 Engine is a game engine with a great amount of support for custom physics integration. Plus the shadows and lighting is really top notch. I am using PhysX Ageia SDK integration implemented by JamesH (http://www.teamhstudios.com/ Sorry, the front page has got nothing on it really). C4 Engine Website: www.terathon.com

The game will have PPU support but will not require a PPU. To play you must use the latest PhysX Ageia Drivers though.

My game plans are on here: http://aquageneral.wordpress.com/2008/01/13/large-update/

I have a few demos on http://aquageneral.wordpress.com/c4-engine-maps/ (only download Map Pack II if you have a demo of C4 with JamesH’s PhysX Ageia Integration, which I might ask him if I can send the release here) (Map Pack I is using Bullet for the physics engine, PhysX drivers are not required)

If there is enough interest I will post a demo of the latest stuff.

At the moment I do not have a license meaning that I am unable to do anything other than map at the moment. With the license I will be able to begin programming the game.

I will make sure that everyone will be able to run this. For me it gets pretty choppy with 1500 rigid bodies, of course :P

This looks really interesting! I think that you could go far if you just work for awhile :D
Also, will the final thing be free? Cause I'm a cheapskate. And btw, are those normal-mapped objects?

AquaGeneral

Yeah there is some normal mappings. Those textures are not my work but a member on C4 Engines forums released free texture packs.

It might cost something, I am planning on developing the game over three years or more. It is going to be huge and I want to make sure everything turns out well.

Can you give a link the the Physx integrated demo?

I will release something soon. Just need to fix some things up in a couple of the levels. There is going to be one problem, the textures are very large and I cannot afford uploading the entire package with them included. So when you play the textures will be missing, or I could also trim all the textures out that the maps are not using.

Also I am 100% sure if I am allowed to release a demo to the public without any clarification.

For the people who are wondering whether or not these levels will run on your PC here is what I recommend.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 or AMD's equivalent
GPU: Geforce 7600 GS or ATI's equivalent
HDD: 2GB Remaining
RAM: 2GB of Memory
I do not have any experience with any of the AMD CPU's or ATI's GFX cards so I am unable to give an opinion.

What?

This looks really really good, If it does end up costing some money I will definitely buy it. (Providing its as good as it looks):)

Update – Released a bunch of pictures of the Marble Floods level showing off 4 different angles of the level.

Because they are large I will not embed.

So anyone actually going to post some feedback?

I am currently thinking WTF because my Media Fire profile has DJ Demetrius's songs inside of "My Files" and also I do not remember creating my account before  EPIC WTF!

I have just fixed all the links. Hope there are no more problems.

Edit: Tested all links, they now work.

I got surprisingly low performance with my C2Q Q6600 @ 3.0GHz, with 4GM of DDR2 RAM and an 8800GT.

Your system should run this very well.

Can you Prnt Scr an image of what settings you used or just type them?

Make sure Texture Resolution is lowered to anything lower than High. AA should be good on 4x, all the other settings can be on.

Have you tried the more optmised levels such as Marble Floods OPT 001 and on?

Please review theses release notes (http://aquageneral.wordpress.com/2008/02/05/demo-released/) to find out some more things.

When I download and put "physxloader.dll" to fix the bug, it then crashes when I try to load a file. Running on a pretty modern PC with Vista...

Downloading the Physx drivers.

Downloading the Physx drivers.

1) PhysX Drivers Required, there is no chance of playing without them.
2) Replacing plugin files that where not included in the drivers can cause non working games.

You might need to re-extract to make sure the plugin is going to work.

It goes terribly slow, maybe I need the textures pack? Even on the most optimized one it goes slow. Most of the other demos work fine.

Be sure to go to the graphics options menu and change the texture resolution down. The texture pack would actually do nothing but make it run slightly worse again.

If its not GPU related than its probably your CPU. My levels are really heavy and you need a decent CPU. In thr final game I will cut down the requirements to something everyone will be happy with.

The demos that are not my own are example levels which dont have many dynamic actors which is a lot easier on the CPU.

Have you tried lowering some of the other settings?

Thanks for the feedback :)

The level with all the marbles were awesome! Really really cool, especially 1680x1050 with texture pack and MOTION BLUR!
There's some pretty cool shaders in C4...

I'm looking forward to some more levels, with objectives and stuff :D
