Does anyone know of any decent physics fighting games? Being as the ones I have played are either:

a) Rubbish
b) Too Tech Demo-y

Ragdoll Kung Fu on Steam was utterly disappointing, with it having the most ridiculous and messy control system ever. That game had so much potential but ended up being rubbish

Ragdoll Masters was fun, but was somewhat tech-demo-y in that you are just flinging a floppy ragdoll around in the hope of hitting your opponent, with some development I reckon it could be awesome.

Toribash is obviously brilliant fun, but again I feel it is somewhat tech-demo-y. I think there is a lot more polish that needs to go onto it before they can be justified in selling it as a "game".

Lugaru was pretty cool, I only played the demo, but I thought that it was less of a physics fighter and more of a fighting game with some physics implementation. Im looking forward to the sequel, if they ever get round to finishing it!

Apart from them I don't know of any other physics fighting games, does anyone know of any? Or does anyone fancy making me one?!

Yeah Rumble Box is really fun. Also "Dark Messiah" is a great physics game

The only problem is the game gets a bit glitchy if you do not update.

Demo: http://www.gamershell.com/download_14927.shtml
Video: http://www.gamershell.com/download_13746.shtml

Dark Messiah lets you use the enviroment to your maximum extend to destroy the enemy. Kick them into a trap or a cliff. Even throw a box. Though the game can be very glitchy at many points of the game there has been numerous patches to fix the bugs. Great Game.

Edit: Wait a second this game is more of a sword game. Is it still classified as a fighting game?

Dark Messiah is pretty cool, but you need a very good computer (desktop, not laptop:mad: ) to run it, or else you will get BSOD.

my ati radeon 9550 handles almost everything on high for graphics, but my celeron 2.4 lags a bit when im fighting more than two enemies.

Oblivion fails horribly at sword combat. Its like Red Steel how all the actions with the sword/weapon will be repeated over and over but with Dark Messiah there is more than 1 animation.

Oblivion also has a very weak fun factor IMO. If I want an RPG on Xbox 360 I will buy Mass Effect or Fable 2.

Dark Messiah is my fav RPG game so far, in every other RPG i have played if you sneak past enemies and dont kill them you get no XP and end up less powerful in the end. In Dark Messiah you can sneak past to get to the objective and still get XP... Its awesome... I like sneaking

Amynue, thanks for the link, Rumble box is a lot of fun! Very challenging and should keep me busy for a while.

AquaGeneral, downloading the demo now, i've looked up a bunch of videos of it and it looks awesome, however I can imagine it crippling my computer as i'm in dire need of an upgrade. I'll see how it copes! *can see the BSOD already* It's not a fighting game in the purest sense, as im after a 1v1 type affair, but nonetheless I can't resist a bit swordfighting.

Which reminds me, has anyone ever played a Playstation game called Bushido Blade? that would kick ass if it was remade with soft-body-cut-you-apart type physics, kinda like the zombie in the Realmatter demo.

I'd also love to see a 1v1 fighting game with chibi style characters and really exaggerated physics, so you could pull off comedy juggle combos (i'm a big tekken fan) and lauch your opponent into walls with riccochet action :D It'd also have to have destructive environments, just for added cool :D

Anyone else have ideas for their perfect physics fighter?

Yes, I own Bushido Blade 2, and we used to have a lot of fun on it with a friend of mine, playing hundreds fights in a row. Loved fighting with the yari and the naginata.

I also have a original copy of Bushido Blade 2. It's truely an awsome game!

*envies both of you* I never got to play Bushido Blade 2 :( But I also remember playing hundreds of fights in a row with my friends on the original. It was a great game because it was one of those "easy to pick up but difficult to master" type things. I remember how hard it was to unlock katze (the guy with the gun) cos you had to fight 100 opponents in the kumite and kill them all but you were only allowed to get hit once!

Anyone reckon an ultra gory and physics-tastic version of Bushido Blade needs to grace the PS3? Cos I sure do!

LBZ (Lemming Ball Z) Is quite fun...

Destructable terrains to a degree...

Spartanicus : There is a 'bushido blade 3' on PS2 (but it's not the exact name of the game). It was quite beautiful, but you could only play with a standard katana. But since it was katana-centered, you had much more movements, and you could even create your own ones (in fact, only kind of combos of basic movements).
As for lemming ball z, you need to read the readme, as there are only 3 buttons to use, but you can make a lot of different things with combinations. Here's a (possibly incomplete) list of movements : charge ki, throw ki ball, kamehameha, transform into super sayan, super sayan 3, charge genkidama, throw genkidama, ki shield, control your opponent, kayoken mode and handfight. The scenary is fully desctructible and you can throw your opponent through it.

Sardiini : I think you haven't played lemming ball z for enough time to enjoy it and uncover all its facets. But it's your right not to like it !

SataMaxx: I know the one you mean, it was called Kengo: Master of the Bushido. It was made by Lightweight but squaresoft had no involvement. I remember it getting bad press since they put energy bars in it and got rid of the one-hit kill mechanic of the earlier games. I tended to play using the katana anyway so that would be okay with me, but the range of weapons you had in the earlier games still added that extra bit of fun. Is it worth picking up if I find it?

I tried Lemmingball Z again and I had a bit more of an idea what I was supposed to do after reading your post. It's kind of a fun game, but it gets pretty old pretty fast. With me not being a Dragonball fan I don't think I can fully appreciate this game. The destructible environments and exaggerated flinging about when you get hit is a definite plus though. I'd just prefer it without the flying about and Spirit Bomb nonsense, but obviously thats what Dragonball Z is all about :P

I don't know if you should buy kengo. I've not really played it that much, I only saw it at a friend's. But if you're not bothered by the fact it's katana-centered, you should give it a go. And I think you can find it at a low price now...

Try disabling most graphics effects like bloom, glow and lowering the resolution. The exaggerated flinging is because of FPS, believe me. It may not make much sense, but that's the issue, I know..I had it too.

Rob 223 do you mean Ragdol Masters? If so check the original post...

Mr Falco, I did mean KwonHo, im checking ijji every day :P

Anyone else know of anything that will fulfill my need for physics based martial arts violence?
