Here's an oldie that i've played with a loooootttt!!

I don't think any of u have seen it before. The controls are easy to master. It features very nice physics and also softbody physics.. really give really a chance! :)

Really 0.9

Ha I've had this one for ages, try loading up the built in worlds it comes with. It gives some pointers on how to create stuff...

It's not exactly an intuitive program, is it?

i'm sorry, but my avg wasn't happy with it either, something about hidden exe extension, so maybe when you unzip it it will install virus? mind posting some screenshots, then I will decide if it's worth the risk

it isn't a virus, AVG is stupid.

Guys, open the "House" file. Draw a shape of molecules and fiddle with the controls. The environment tab isn't good, so leave that one.

Once u get the hang of it the simulation is quite entertaining. ie. build a stickman and shoot him with heavy molecules and watch him shred to parts :)

I have no idea how to use it. When I create objects they just disappear.T_T

Yeah 'Really' is old, I've always had it on my computer, though the one I use now is only a year old, but the version of Really I have on it comes from the old pentium 75Mhz I had, back in 1997.
Yes, Really is now 10 years old, and since I started playing with it I tried some kind of things, and I even tried (or am I still trying ?) to program something similar.
In fact, visit Alec Rivers' site, you'll see he was fond of this program too, and that it was his inspiration for some of his programs. I had the same ambitions but didn't go as far as him, for a lot of reasons : I'm lazy, I don't have much free time and I finally decided to be a doctor instead of a programmer (the human body is a machine so complex regarding to a computer !)

So, well, enough talking for now, I know I make very long posts for nothing.
So if you want some tips on how to use Really, ask them.
And for beginners, start by opening the different simulations that comes with Really and read the notes, that should teach you the basics of using this program...
If you ask for it, I can write a tutorial for Really (but there's already a manual, written by the author, which is quite complete).

Sorry, I really didn't like this game, I can see how it can be fun, but for me, it just isn't.

Personally, this website needs a section for "Physics Tools" or something like that because I am a person who enjoys a quick and easy gaming experience. This would seem fun for someone with alot of patience and alot of spare time. Which I don't really have. I consider this more of a tool than a game for it has no real goal or anything. Oh well, whatever floats your boat.
Maybe, if I sat down with it for a while I'd have fun but I like "games" with a quicker pace...

Thanks for this find, mate.

Been looking for this for years.

First physics engine I ever used, and it's what got me interested in physics in the first place.

In general, its a good idea to post screenshots and a description of any game that you want us to download. And also its a good idea to find a download that doesn't set off the virus scanner alarms (like, say, linking to the game's site). I'm going to hold off until this thread becomes more fleshed out.

It's funny to see how the "new into" physics people have a hard time finding this enjoyable. Comparing the comments to RealMatter, wich is basicaly a 3D version of this, it's obvious they have not tried "Really" to it's full extend. I still love it and it aint about the graphics..

Nice to know there's more people out there who loved/love this game. It's nostalgia to me.

To truly understand where we're heading we should know where we came from

well, i don't think it's that bad. lots of settings, able to make own shapes, tear aparts! 2d can be good too.

Wow, this sure takes me back. Nostalgia indeed. I can't say how many hours I messed with this for all those years ago. I don't think I stopped until I discovered Working Model 2D.

This looks interesting seeing that it was made 10 years ago. Is anyone else finding the physics a bit jittery or is it just me? Maybe the physics equations aren't time adjusted so they run ultra-fast on my 3.2Ghz processor, or the physics aren't very stable.

The fact that the program is old means that it doesn't really appeal to people that have never played it before. There are many great 2D physics engines out there and someone could (and probably has) made an ultimate 2D physics toy.

I hope this may be an inspiration to developers out there. Maybe even someone willing to create something similar with intuitive controls

Well if they want to be inspired, they can go back a few pages.
