Hi All

Found another nice physics program called Marker World (http://hatsformypencil.com/World/) which is another take on Crayon World for all those who cant wait for the next version of that. A demo can be Downloaded Here (http://www.hatsformypencil.com/World/downloads/MarkerWorld_concept_demo_v1_0c.zip). And a Video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=jcjkCsfSAZM).

i have an 8800 and it says the video card does not support NonPow2Conditional.

edit: in the readme.txt it says it needs at least directx 8. i think he made it for that but it doesn't support the future versions? maybe it's because i'm on vista with dx10

munto - Thanks for the awesome encouragement! If you would like to see the framerate of the game, press 0 (zero) while playing. Hopefully it won't dip too low even after creating hundreds of objects ;).

psygo - The game could really use some music I admit...just a simple thing like that would make it more engaging.

raymastero - I played Crayon Physics too and it was obviously one of my inspirations =)

Thanks for checking out my demo everyone! For those with the NonPow2Conditional message box that pops up - what video card are you using? Obviously I'd like to fix this problem so that the demo can be played by as many people as possible.

Nice, another developer here to listen to us.

Are you going to develop this further? More levels for example?

Ah yeah, I'm using GF 7600 GS. I get the same message as everyone else, but after pressing "ok" the game starts normally.

Muntu - I may develop this further depending on the feedback (which has been positive so far) and the amount of time I can dedicate to it.

Interesting, people running Nvidia cards seem to be getting the message box.

I have uploaded a newer version which I hope fixes the issue. You can download the latest version here (http://www.hatsformypencil.com/World/download.php?f=markerworld). Please let me know if this solves the problem!

I have an older Nvidia card and I don't get the error. Probably because its old.

Edit: Just as a suggestion. You should try to make a multiplayer mode. Possibly try to create contraptions to screw up your opponent, while racing him/her to the end. Or even a co-op mode.

Could it be that your desktop color depth has been set to 16-bit? Starting the game may fail if the color depth is not 32-bit. Unfortunately the concept demo version does not properly handle falling back to a 16-bit color depth - this something I'll have to address in the future.

Best Game Ever. This game is so good, it makes Crayon Physics seem like Super Mario Bros 2, (and we all know that game.... was great *coughNOTcough*)

Marker World is the Super Mario Bros 3 of its kind. If you do not own this game, you will die of boredom in 7 days.

This game is pwnful. I mean what other game lets you draw a bridge across a gap, or sled down a hill on a sailboat. If you spend your time focusing on the goal, it defeats the purpose... I mean its much more fullfilling to see that you drew a circus wheel with a gap in it, and drove into a hole, and the gap was RIGHT where you needed it, or not and you are stuck in a hole.

My goal in the game is not to beat the level, but to beat the level in ways people have never thought of. Even now the strategy of coloring in shapes to make them weigh alot is helpful. I haven't made a working catapult yet, but I am still trying. I salute you, HatsForMyPencil. :D May your superior 1337n3ss guide us through the blizzards, the earthquakes, and the tornados of the physics game world. (Now back to drawing stickfigures and pushing them off cliffs ^.^)

Think it could be the dualcore causing it?
