Hi,
I would like to suggest my idea I got for long times. My idea is a lot inspired by powder game.
It would be a 2D software/game that simulate air pressure, wind, dot interaction (like powder game) AND also moving solid parts that will interact with the other. For example if you push a piston in a cylinder, it will build pressure. Also lot of little thing you can add on like forces, jet, strings, spark plug etc....suggest your own! Huge amount of different thing you can create from your own with this kinda powder game.

Example of what i would like to do in this game:
-If I want to do a 2-stroke combustion engine, i would put some fuel injector in the intake (like clone in powder game). Than I'ld make the cylinder, head, crankase etc.. in solid non-movable part (like wall in powder game). The piston, rod, crank and other moving parts in solid-movable parts. Then I'ld put an exauhst system for succion and a spark plug connected to a switch or something on the crank that would trigger it each revolution.

You can imagine tons of other cool things to do!!!:)
Feel free to suggest thing.

EDIT: Phun (the game) have the kind of rigid bodies it would have in it.

Waiting for this kind of thing to be developped!!
Sorry if my English is bad im from Quebec.

ya that would be cool if there was solid movable parts. then u could meake a gun that actualy shoots a bullet, oh and welcome to the forumns

Yeah, that sounds so... awesome, something like that turns me on. :D

ok, this does sound kind of cool, ive never tried to mix fluid dynamics like that with verlet or rigid bodys. may take this idea up. But the problem is, wheres the "game" u and i would have fun playing with the system, but most users would not know what to do or how to use the inevitably complex UI to create things (see my other virtual machine post/ game for example of how editor ui gets complex for this kind of game). having said that, this is a very good idea :), would the electronics not play almost as bigger part in the potential machine design as the air pressure? (ive not seen a complex electrons engine either).

Hey, that's actually a good and feasible idea, which is something rare here. Most of the ideas here are completely unrealistic, at least when having today's computers in mind. :p

Welcome to the forums!

hey, that's actually kind of what i had in mind for my sandbox/level editor. i'm working on the user interface to allow an almost CAD like creation of objects, where you can give dimensions and stuff. i'm also drawing some ideas from some major 3d modeling programs. i'm also trying the make the user interface USABLE to the general public.

another thing i'm doing is allowing for multiple layers. there are some 3d machines that you can't do in 2d, where all objects collide with all other objects. and then it's too difficult for most people to use a 3d thing, so i'm 2.5D-itizing it with layers.

It sounds Smashing

yours too oh great Kot

Cool, I very like the layer idea you gave. Making layers will prevent restriction of 2d but would not enter in the amazing complexity of a 3d soft. Very good idea!

This stuff in 2D would be enough for me. :)

Please! , if someone is making a game like this one day, tell me.
I would be delighted to help creating the game, and to test it!

What are the specs needed? I'd be happy to test if my desktop or laptop can handle this :)

It doesnt exist yet, its a suggestion.
