I was wondering how most peeps video there fun-motion games(the Non- full screen one's), because fraps, or, correct me if i'm wrong, GameCam, both don't work. There are some screen recorders out there but you have to adjust the width and, and, and... there shit.
So i was wondering if there is a program out there, free or not, that records fun-motion games, and retail games.

Camtasia Studio is the best one in my opinion.
It's shareware though.

I use it to make gifs for CC (it can export to GIF directly). Also, it has a similar layout to Windows Movie Maker, so if you're familiar with that one it'll be easier for you to get used to it :o

that's what i had a trial of..... does it record through a microphone, or speakers?

I believe it can record through both. Camtasia always records rather choppily for me, though. It's still my favorite, because the choppiness is probably just my computers' fault.

Upload them. Copy and Paste the direct link of image here when posting. Add tags to either side of the linked image. It'll look like:

Another question; How do you record gifs?

First off, screen recorders.
BB FlashBack: Commercial Screen Recorder, I think the price tag is near $200. It records excellently.
HyperCam2: Shareware, leaves a watermark on video(you could easily crop it off), but has no time limit or feature limits.
And as for gifs, you must save the video as an avi. then use a program that can import avi into frames, then save those frames stitched together into a gif. Search around for "animation" and "avi" on Softpedia, you'll find some freeware software. A good freeware movie convert is Super, it can convert pretty much any media to another one.

I use Fraps the most, it seams to work the best for me. I also have a AVI to Gif converter floating somewhere on my computer that works fairly well.

Yeah, fraps is the most reliable, and does record little sections of the screen, as long as that section of the screen is it's own application. It will record to the size of whatever window is on top. And editing done in windows movie maker or many other apps. If you use windows movie maker, save every 15 seconds... it WILL crash. period.

For gifs, take a video into a video editing prog or photoshop of you like messing with many frames. Delete at least 1/2 the frames, then save it as a gif in photoshop. For video editors, I highly suggest a converter off google for when you are done, or using the photoshop method after video editing. Gifs are tricky, just figure out what methods suit your abilities best- may even be one that isn't listed here, there are many ways to make gifs nowadays, try googling it.

Like Maltor, I also use Camtasia, and Camtasia can also convert it to a GIF directly. From my experiences, I like Camtasia more than Fraps.

Or you can just use Camtasia... It saves directly to GIF's. I never use FRAPS, it lags 3D accelerated programs too much for me to work well.

Each one of these took around 5 minutes to make with Camtasia + Imageready, wich means 15 minutes. If I used any other program to record, each one of these would have taken 5 minutes to record, then about 48749534857 to convert to gif.

Comparisan of game recorders :P (http://www.zdsoft.com/game-recorder/comparison.html)

And I'm going to trust that comparison seeing as how it's made by themselves. Not only that but they don't show ZD recorder's flaws. Mainly. It CRASHES. OFTEN. It's not my computer since I have the second or third best computer on these forums. Most likely bugs they have. Loads. And ZD's are fixed less.

Also, fraps has "Ordinary" compatibility with DirectDraw 2D games? Lies. ALL the DirectDraw 2D games I have (quite a few) are captured PERFECTLY.

Fraps doesn't have "Custom audio sample rate"? Lies. It does. It's in a menu, I had to change it to record sound better. "Custom audio bit rate"? Same.

Don't trust comparisons if one side has almost everything. It's obviously not including what it's lacking.

Also, Fraps. Forever. EVERY other one won't work properly. ZD soft keeps crashing. Their support says my OS isn't supported. XP 64-bit.

Game Cam doesn't even start.

Same with Camtasia.

Fraps works perfectly, only problem being the fact that it sometimes makes corrupt videos if I'm in windowed mode and alt-tab to another program while it's recording.

True, True. I have game cam currently, but no sound records on free version, and it leaves a watermark. Other than that I find it very good. The trial for game cam is unlimited recording and keeps in-game framerates rather high, unlike most people who use fraps. I'm not saying fraps doesn't record and keeps your fps high, but people with lower end pc's might have difficulty.
